In *Cats Escape. Tuning Day*, Sebastian Magnani extends his signature photographic practice of staged hyperrealism into a sly contemporary allegory. With cinematic lighting, crisp colour grading, and meticulous compositing, Magnani builds a tableau that feels at once documentary and artifice—an image engineered for close looking. The work’s playful feline protagonists operate as stand-ins for human ritual and performance, turning “tuning day” into a meditation on calibration: of identity, attention, and social roles in an image-saturated culture.
