English film director and producer Alfred Hitchcock is photographed for British Vogue in March of 1956. Known as the Master of Suspense and one of the most influential figure in the history of cinema, Hitchcock produced blockbusters including Psycho, Vertigo, Rear Window, and The Birds.
About the Artist
Sir Norman Parkinson (1913–1990) was a British portrait and fashion photographer whose four-decade career transformed the aesthetic of 20th-century magazine work. Shooting for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Town & Country, he took models out of the studio into landscapes, streets and factories — humanising fashion photography and paving the way for the modern editorial image.
