In *Dequalinium Chloride*, Damien Hirst extends his sustained inquiry into medicine, belief, and the aesthetics of clinical authority. Referencing a potent antiseptic compound, the work draws on the visual language of pharmaceuticals—cool precision, standardised nomenclature, and the promise of cure—while exposing the anxieties that underwrite contemporary healthcare and consumer culture.
