Actress Tamsin Egerton and the fashion designers Daphne Guinness and Savannah Miller are among the famous faces in a new London
photography show celebrating strong women.
Their portraits will hang alongside images of Hollywood stars Melanie Griffith and Tippi Hedren at the show, which launches next Thursday at Café Royal and stays there until December 21 when it moves to the Zebra One Gallery in Hampstead.
Photographer Alistair Guy said his portraits were “a celebration of femininity”.
Alistair Guy Celebrating Women
The exhibition included women of different ages and experiences, from the worlds of fashion, film and music. It was inspired by Guy’s close relationship with Daphne Selfe; as one of the world’s oldest supermodels, he felt that she captured the spirit of the strong woman.
Alongside Daphne Selfe, Savannah Miller and Melanie Griffith, other exceptional women included in the Strong Women exhibition are Tippi Hedren, Tilly Wood, Daphne Guinness, Tamsin Egerton, Jade Parfitt, Amy Manson, Lena Gora, Shruti Ganguly, Jan De Villeneuve, Greta Ballamacina, Martina Bjorn, Brix Smith-Start, Elizabeth Von Guttman and Erin Tonkon.Shot on film using only natural light, what made this exhibition stand out is the honesty in each of the photographs. The ladies were shot in their homes or at places which held a personal significance to them …
The exhibition opened on the 10th of November for a private view in partnership with London’s Beautiful Hotel ‘Cafe Royal’ it was then shown till the 21st of November at Zebra One Gallery.
